Choose how to call a car

VISITKOREA lists k.ride as a visitor-oriented option that does not require a KakaoTalk account; Kakao T has a different signup path. App availability, supported cards, driver payment and vehicle types can vary by service and booking.

If you use a street taxi, show the destination in Korean on a map. Airport taxi desks and designated stands may have their own pickup rules.

Check the pickup before you confirm

Visitor-focused taxi apps can offer overseas registration and payment options, but support differs by app. Complete registration and any required payment-card setup before your first ride.

For k.ride, follow its current card-registration and automatic-payment instructions. Do not assume you can choose payment to the driver because another app or an older guide offers it.

1. Enter the Korean destination and compare the map pin with the actual entrance.
2. Set the correct side of the road, station exit or airport pickup zone.
3. Review car type, estimated fare and payment selection before requesting.
4. Match the plate and car details shown in the app before boarding.

During and after the ride

Follow the live route and keep your seat belt fastened. At arrival, check whether the app already charged you before paying the driver. Save the ride history or paper receipt for a forgotten item or fare question.

For a long late-night journey, compare the arrival point with your accommodation entrance and make sure you can enter the building at that hour.

When the car or payment does not match

Do not board a vehicle whose plate differs from the assignment. Use the app's support or cancel according to the shown conditions, then request again from a safe pickup point.
