01

Plan with station names, not just cities

Search by date, departure station and arrival station. Include the journey from your accommodation to the station and from the arrival station to your next stay. Compare train type, travel time and seat class, not only the lowest price.

KTX, airport rail and city subways are separate parts of a journey. Do not plan Jeju as a rail trip like Seoul to Busan; look up the actual transport options separately.

02

Check five things on the booking screen

Trip.com's Korea rail guide describes electronic tickets. Follow your purchased product's instructions and open the issued ticket. A booking confirmation page is not necessarily a ticket you can travel with.

  1. Date, exact departure and arrival stations, and the actual number and ages of passengers.
  2. Train type, departure time and seat class.
  3. Passenger names and required identity details.
  4. Ticket issuance status and how to display the usable ticket.
  5. Change and refund channel, deadlines and fees.

03

At the station, match the train number

Check the departure time, train number and destination on the departure board, then follow the platform signs. Match the carriage and seat on your ticket. Prepare the information you need offline according to the seller's instructions.

Stow luggage without blocking the aisle. If you have a return booking, save its departure date and station separately too.

04

Use the original seller for changes

Read the seller's and product's change or refund instructions and prepare your booking number and ticket. Booking through an affiliate link does not mean we can cancel the ticket on your behalf.

Check the processing deadline and fees before departure. A rail pass is not automatically cheaper: compare it with individual tickets for the routes and dates you will actually use.

Paid link

The Seoul → Busan link opens Trip.com's Korean-language page with Seoul and Busan station groups selected. Check the exact stations and ticket details before booking.

The English link opens a general train search, not a Seoul → Busan search. Choose your route and check the displayed currency; USD is not guaranteed.
