01
Find the correct side of the road
- Open the route's boarding-stop details and walk to that exact stop.
- Match the stop name or ID, bus number and direction or following stops. A same-named stop across the road can go the other way.
- Check the arriving vehicle's number and destination rather than relying on colour alone.

02
Board and check the card reader
- On a conventional Seoul city bus, normally board at the front and follow any vehicle-specific signs.
- Tap your transit card once and wait for approval. Check the transit balance if the reader refuses it.
- Hold a rail or sit down promptly. Keep bags out of the aisle; do not assume cash payment is available.

03
Press the bell, then tap off
- Watch the next-stop display or your route; press the stop bell before your stop.
- After the bus stops, tap at the exit reader and leave through the marked exit, normally at the rear.
- Keep the same card for the next leg. In Seoul's integrated system, transfer within 30 minutes of alighting, or 60 minutes between 21:00 and 07:00.
- Transfer discounts have route and journey conditions; the same bus route is excluded and a distance charge can still apply.
04
If you miss your stop
Stay on until the next safe stop, get off and search a new route. Do not cross the road without checking the crossing and opposite stop.
Ask staff or the driver before departure if you are unsure about the stop. Look up the last connection home before staying out late.
